Johanna Byström Sims is a Swedish artist who works in various materials and techniques, mainly with sound, drawing and sculpture. With curiosity as a driving force, she moves through biological and philosophical systems with a focus on the role of humans in these. In processes where parts of a whole are picked out and considered, she explores the patterns that surround us. Johanna Byström Sims has an education in sculpture at Bretton Hall College/University of Leeds. She received her Master in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 2001. Johanna Byström Sims lives in Sala and Sundbyberg, Sweden. Her art is presented in various national contexts, and she is also involved in several international projects.
