Ingela Ihrman is active both in Sweden and internationally. Her work spans exhibitions, commissions, and self-initiated projects within and beyond institutional art spaces. Ihrman’s artistic practice encompasses performance, sculpture, video, and text, often in collaboration with others. Her artistry is infused with strong emotions, exploring the complexities and wonders of relationships, all while casting a loving gaze upon what we call Nature. Notably, Ihrman’s work has been showcased at various prestigious venues: Gasworks in London (2023), Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum (2023), The Nordic Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale (2019). Recently, her solo exhibition titled “Frutti di Mare” was on display at Malmö Konsthall.
In the residency Dreams and Visions by the Sea Ingela is directing her focus on cultured grains, dough, bread, baking, farming and landscapes. An associative chain of thought that combine Halmstad with the fertile crescent. The result will be presented in and around Halmstad in the fall of 2024.
