Crystal Z Campbell’s (Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA) work in Varberg includes performance, film and video. Her transdisciplinary practice generates from suppressed public secrets characterized by a combination of archival material and fictional strategies.

“A public secret is a form of knowledge that is shared and maintained by everyone. I am fascinated by the local, regional and national secrets that exist in our daily lives. What is the fear, pleasure, function, desire and politics of maintaining a “public secret”? Secrets and self-care among individuals, collectives, ideals and nations are linked through joy, desire and politics”.

Crystal Z Campbell, b. 1980, has a Master in Visual Arts from the University California-San Diego, a Master in Africa-studies from the University at Albany-SUNY, and studied at the Whitney Independent Study Program, New York. Campbell is a Tulsa Artist Fellow.
