Opening: Forgotten Realms
13:00 - 16:00, Tjolöholm Castle, Kungsbacka
Welcome to the opening of the exhibition Forgotten Worlds!
Art Inside Out’s summer exhibition opens at Tjolöholm Castle with an opening speech, performance and artist presentations.
During the spring, five internationally recognized artists; Tilda Lovell, Karin Drake, Jesper Thour, Kayo Mpoyi and Ann Eringstam participated in an artistic residency at Tjolöholm Castle. In dialog with the site, they have created new works of art that are displayed in and around the castle during the summer. The exhibition Forgotten Worlds draws its inspiration from Halland’s rich multitude of legends and tales about the supernatural and underground, as well as from the historical connections to Nordic and Celtic folklore that are reflected both in the dizzying nature that surrounds the castle and within the castle environment itself. In photography, painting, sculpture, sound, video projections and AR works, the artists re-enchant Tjolöholm through new representations of reality in the borderland between the everyday and the fantastic, myth and reality, past and present.
The exhibition opens at 13.00 and is followed by the newly produced performance piece Obsessed games and I play obsessed by the artist Klara Ström. Afterwards, there will be a tour of the exhibition together with the participating artists.
A bus departs from Götaplatsen in Gothenburg towards Tjolöholm at 11:45, with the return at 17:00. The trip is free of charge with a limited number of places. The buss is fully booked now.
Time: 13:00–16:00
Place: Opening outside the entrance to Tjolöholm Castle followed by an art walk inside the castle, in the nearby forest, Galleri Loftet and the workers’ village.
Between 12:00–15:00 you can take part in a creative workshop for families out in the castle park where old books and fairy tales inspire new pictures and stories. Create with paint and materials that can be found in nature. Drop in.
*Visitors to the artist presentation with Tilda Lovell and Karin Drake enter the castle for free during the display of the work.
