Marit Kapla

Marit Kapla (Gothenburg) is a journalist and author. With a background as a former artistic director for Gothenburg Film Festival and editor of the cultural journal Ord&Bild, she published her first novel in 2019 (Teg Publishing). Osebol is a literary documentary about the villagers in Osebol, located in the northern parts of Värmland where she grew up. The novel was received with critical acclaim by both critics and reader and was awarded with Augustpriset for best work of fiction and Borås Tidning’s debutant award.

Parallel to the residency, she has been invited to walk through Halland, in the footsteps and company of Mary Wollstonecraft. The text that emerged as a result of  the walk is published alongside the works of participating artists in AIO Journal.
