Jan Carleklev

Using sound as artistic material, Jan Carleklev’s background in music and performing arts is continuously present and reflected in his work. Carleklev has established an artistic practice in which he himself, or he as part of a participative process, directs his focus towards those voices usually unheard and courses of events not seen. Within these processes, and by creating meetings in the form of “Insect choirs”, “Sloyd orchestras” and other sounding situations, he is investigating power, knowledge and loss in relation to humanity’s often complicated entanglement with nature.
