Alexander Rynéus is a Swedish artist and film director who often works with the concept of place in his practice. He is interested in different types of gaps in stories and situations. Small moments that take place alongside the larger story and together form another whole where situation-based tableaus replace each other. The slippages that exist between what is experienced as true, the degree of fiction we fill our lives with and the stories we collectively create, linked to physical places. In the past, he has directed several documentary films and studied at Biskops Arnö’s documentary film programme and at Konstfack.

In the residency People and Places, Alexander investigated the stories of different people and Hylte as a place. He produced the film De drömmandes tid, which was a poetic story where small events and impacts in the middle of life highlights the role and importance of stories.
