Apply for the greatest summer job

26/02/2026 Halland

Would you like to work with an artist in a joint art project in Årstad outside Falkenberg?

Do you like art and creating? Are you interested in history and old places? Maybe you like sewing your own clothes or want to get better at other textile techniques? Are you interested in being part of creating art for an exhibition? Maybe you wonder how to dye fabric with the help of plants? Have you dreamed of making a huge cheese-colored drapery that waves in the wind, together with others? If so, a summer job in Årstad could be something for you!

About the summer job
Artist Åsa Dybwad Norman is working, at the invitation of Art Inside Out, together with young people in a joint art project. Now we are looking for you who think it sounds exciting and want to discover new ways of working artistically. For three weeks, you will work together in a group, in Årstad outside Falkenberg, creating an exhibition in Sannarp’s old dairy, which has been home to Årstad’s very temporary art gallery for the past ten years.

The work, which will last for three weeks, involves creating works for an exhibition that opens on July 4th at Sannarp’s dairy in Årstad, and is presented in collaboration with Årstad’s very temporary art gallery. The works that are created consist of several different materials and techniques: textile, metal, video and text. We will mainly work on making sculptures that are inspired by the machines, people and animals that were previously used and worked at the dairy. Part of the work is also to help produce a fanzine with illustrations, pictures and texts on the theme.

Who are we looking for?

For this summer job, we are looking for someone who lives in Halland, who is interested in and enjoys art, crafts, text and history. You are between the ages of 16 and 19. Please write a few lines about yourself, why you want this particular job and what experiences/interests you bring with you, in your application.

No prior knowledge of art or sewing is necessary. The most important thing is that you want to learn new things, are curious and interested in participating in an experimental artistic process. We also see that you are a committed person who likes a little challenge, takes initiative and dares to try new things. Since you are a group that will work together, it is important that you can cooperate. We will place great importance on personal suitability.

If you need to take a bus/train to get to the workplace, Region Halland is short for Hallandstrafiken. From the train station in Falkenberg you will be picked up by a transport under the auspices of Art Inside Out, which will take you to and from Årstad.
