AIO Journal #15 and #16
In these issues, we have developed both the editorial content and design of our print publication. Here you can see a how our graphic designer Hanna Bergman has introduced, among other things, the new typeface Reform, inspired by an entire ecosystem of graphics taken from agriculture. It is a fine addition to Art Inside Out’s identity and artistic residencies that moves between city and countryside and between different art forms and genres.
In AIO Journal #15: Shadowplay, we engage with different perspectives perspectives on microhistory, both from the artistic residence in Rydöbruk and through examples from other parts of Sweden. With texts by Elfrida Bergman, cultural analyst and project manager for e.g. Queering Sápmi; Jan Nordwall, Secretary General of The Swedish Local Heritage Federation; artists-in-residence Johanna Byström Sims and Eric Andersson; Lennart Hildingsson who is in charge of Rydö Bruksmuseum; musician Kristoffer Kabell and AIO-editors Stina Edblom and Davor Abazovic.
In AIO Journal #16: The Public Design Office artists, researchers and designers expand on participatory and democratic design. With texts by, among others, Gunilla Lundahl (journalist, curator and activist), Anna Gavanas (social anthropologist, writer and DJ) and artists-in-residence Onkar Kular and Henric Benesch, whose research platform The Right to Design inspired the theme and implementation of the residency, as well as AIO-editors Stina Edblom and Lars Fridén.
