Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir makes work on paper, preferring to work in large format. She then transforms her drawings into animations and uses them in installations and murals. Her imagery is enigmatic and personal. Her visual language is mythopoetic and often returns to the blurry line between the human and non-human. Björg Sigurðardóttir’s animations do not have a conventional narrative structure. One image leads to a completely different image and in that way creates twists and turns which do not necessarily follow a narrative’s logical structure.

Sigga participated in the residency Katja Tukiainen vs. Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir.
