Cora Jongsma
Through her use of the textile material felt, the Dutch artist Cora Jongsma explores how land is shaped and cultivated by humans. With her specific tracing method, she records the physical structures and lines of the landscape. Felts, as she calls her artistic creations, can be read as material memory maps of historical relationships between man and the earth. In the residency Shift Äskhult she is interested in exploring the use of the local nature and land. Images of historical data serves as an analysis of the landscape, which in turn forms a starting point for conversations about how the land can be cared for in the future.
