Christine Ödlund
Christine Ödlund is a Swedish artist based in Stockholm. Her work spans art, metaphysics and science, with a particular focus on plant communication. With a background in electroacoustic music, Ödlund has a unique interdisciplinary approach to her practice. She has exhibited extensively in Sweden and internationally, in exhibitions such as “Swedish Ecstasy” Bozar in Brussels 2023, “Suivre les ondes” Swedish Institute in Paris 2024, Triennale in Bruges “Rebel Garden” 2024, Vilnius Painting Triennial 2024 and most recently “Romantiken – ett sätt att se” at the National Museum in Stockholm.
In Laholm, Christine Ödlund continues to follow in the footsteps of the language and communication of plants and ecological systems. The peculiar distribution pattern of a moss in a beech forest, a strangely familiar scent of a wetland and the undulating spatial patterns that arise among the Laholmsbukten sand dunes are some examples of considerations and phenomena that lead her work towards an exhibition at Teckningsmuseet.
Ödlund’s work is included in prominent collections such as the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Magasin III – Museum & Foundation for Contemporary Art, and the British Museum, Department of Prints and Drawings, United Kingdom. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Royal Academy of Arts.
