Anja and Tomas Örn

Anja and Tomas work artistically both together and with their individual projects. They are also part of the ”Norrakollektivet” together with Fanny Carinasdotter where their work engage with forms of production and extraction in the northern landscapes. 

Anja Örn (b. 1972) lives and works in Luleå. Her works are often based on nature, sometimes in relation to her own existence. Later works examine intersections where nature and industry meet with questions about the consequences of man’s grand projects in the landscape, where nature begins and ends.  Anja is part of Galleri Syster in Luleå.  

Tomas Örn (b. 1976) lives and works in Luleå. Tomas works with the industrial landscapes in the north and collective ideas about nature and culture. Artistically, he is also interested in public space and how power systems are created and challenged.  

In Laholm, Anja and Tomas work together and with the river Lagan in Knäred. They are interested in how we can observe and materialize the memories of the industrialized landscape and in the water as a changing boundary line where relations between nature and culture are renegotiated. An investigation which, during the autumn, culminates in a public work in Knäred.
