Opening: Forgotten Realms

14:00 - 15:30, Tjolöholm Castle, Kungsbacka

Welcome to the closing of the exhibition Forgotten Realms!

After ten weeks in the fantastic surroundings on Tjolöholm, the exhibition Forgotten Realms ends with a finale on Sunday, August 25.

On this last day of the exhibition, we have invited back all participating artists – Jesper Thour, Kayo Mpoyi, Ann Eringstam, Karin Drake and Tilda Lovell – to show their works between 14:00 and 15:30.

During the spring, five internationally recognized artists; Tilda Lovell, Karin Drake, Jesper Thour, Kayo Mpoyi and Ann Eringstam participated in an artistic residency at Tjolöholm Castle. In dialog with the site, they have created new works of art that are displayed in and around the castle during the summer.

The exhibition Forgotten Realms draws its inspiration from Halland’s rich multitude of legends and tales about the supernatural and underground, as well as from the historical connections to Nordic and Celtic folklore that are reflected both in the dizzying nature that surrounds the castle and within the castle environment itself. In photography, painting, sculpture, sound, video projections and AR works, the artists re-enchant Tjolöholm through new representations of reality in the borderland between the everyday and the fantastic, myth and reality, past and present.
