Klara Ström - Art Inside Out

During the opening of the exhibition Forgotten Realms, artist Klara Ström presented the new performance piece Obsessed Play and I Play Obsessed, which brought the audience on a walk where myth and folk lore were shaken to form an alluring and at the same time repulsive creature.

Klara Ström works thematically with text and voice in performances where she develops her characters with the help of costume and scenography. Ström processes the personal through literary historical techniques and plays around with symbolism in fragmented narratives that remind us of stories we know from the past. Mythological and religious stories, as well as fairy tales and folklore are the basis of her work with varied themes.

Ström has an MFA from Konstfack (2018) and has previously shown works at, among others, Göteborgs Konsthall, Malmö Konsthall, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Skåne Art Association, Chart Art Fair, Statens Museum for Kunst and O-Overgaden.
