Ann Eringstam’s large-scale photography opens up a world where realism meets fantasy. Here, a grand dramatic nature appears often as a backdrop for suggestive and dreamy motifs. In her photo series, Eringstam often explores the search for identity and the roles we take on due to culture, norms, or the media.
In a small selection from the new photo series, which was published in connection to the residency, Tjolöholm Castle emerges from sweeping veils of fog, towering and magnificent at the same time.
Ann Eringstam has a degree in photography from the University of Photography – now Valand Academy (University of Gothenburg). She is represented at, among others, the Hasselblad Center, and the Gothenburg Art Museum. She lives in Kungsbacka and has been teaching part-time at Valand Academy since 2011.
