A residency is an opportunity for a creative practitioner to be invited in to work for a set period on their art form on site in Halland. They are also provided with support, which may include accommodation, premises, funding and access to technical facilities.

Residencies bring about new and exciting forms of engagement and lead to the creation of new artistic product. Hosting the creative production process in Halland enables the programming of associated activities such as workshops, lectures, discussions and masterclasses.

OPEN CALL – Artistic residency in autumn 2018

Digital and textile storytelling in Äskhult, Kungsbacka Municipality (Sweden). Art Inside Out is offering a six week residency for three artists in the fall of 2018, with all expenses paid. It is an opportunity to work with digital and textile narratives around an extensive archival material about the village of Äskhult in Kungsbacka municipality. Read more

Create dreams – shape places

The design residency "Skapa drömmar – forma platser" (Create dreams – shape places) centres around identity, place and dreams in Falkenberg municipality. Focusing on design, the residency investigates the relationship between town and country in two sub-processes, one in the interior and one in the administrative centre. Read more

Place. Poetry. Periphery.

Six Nordic poets took part in a four-week residency in beautiful Hylte municipality in Halland, with accommodation, travel, premises and remuneration paid from 24 April – 19 May 2017. They had the opportunity to work on their own as well as with others on the theme of plats, poesi, periferi (place, poetry, periphery). Read more

Katja Tukiainen and Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir

The Icelandic artist Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir and Finnish artist Katja Tukiainen will live and work in Laholm for three weeks to finalise their exhibition on site. During the period there will be drawing workshops and open discussions on art and literature topics. The residency will run from 12 September to 2 October 2016. Read more
